Carved in red sandalwood, with cold-gold and cinnabar paint. This Tibetan form of Sri Devi or Kali has pendant breasts, is 4-armed, and rides on a mule. She has a garland of human, heads, holds a skull-bowl, head and Tantric implements. Part of a series of red sandalwood sculptures owned by the"Black Hat" Karmapa lamas, this powerful item was purchased from Spink & Co of London, England.
